"Abomasnow" seems to be a combination of the words "Abonimable Man Snow", a reference to the "Abonimable Snowman", a mythical, ape-like creature said to live on the snow-covered mountains of Nepal and Tibet.
(I think he kinda looks like an owl, though... ;o)
